After the disappointing Moonraker, James Bond is back in For Your Eyes Only. Rather than using movies like Goldfinger for the pattern, the producers used movies like From Russia With Love and OHMSS. Smart move for Bond purists. Moore actually gets his hair messed up and plays Bond grittier and acting his age.

Personally, one of my favorites and the best Moore film in the whole series. FYEO actuall uses Fleming material, the most since OHMSS from 2 short stories, FYEO and Riscico. The film, in my opinion, elaborates and fleshes out Fleming's short stories beutifully so that the 2 seperate stories meet at the end.

After just re-watching it, though, I find it is a lot like OHMSS.  Skiing, a bobsled chase, references to Tracy and Blofeld, even Columbo was like Marc Ange Draco.  Still, each Bond actor needs a film like this to get back to the roots of 007
