Goldfinger is the epitome of the Bond films. The first to use fantastic gadgets (Like the Aston Martin DB5), several Bond girls and tongue planted FIRMLY in cheek. The "Bond Formula" is created. This film is regarded by most Bond fans as the best film of the series!

Trivia

Felix Leiter, Bond's CIA colleague, introduced in Dr No and a semi-regular in Fleming's novels, returns. However, the producers were apparently concerned that the presence of Jack Lord (who played Leiter in Dr No) would overshadow Sean Connery and recast the part with an older actor, Cec Linder.

Cec Linder was originally cast as Simmons, the card player who Goldfinger cheats in Miami, and Leiter was to be played by Austin Willis, but their roles were then switched.

The first film to use the term "gold" in the title

This is the first film to acknowledge any other members of the Double 0 section when M threatens to give the mission of investigating Goldfinger to 008 when he thinks that Bond may turn it into a personal vendetta to avenge Jill Masterson.

Gert Frobe's voice was reportedly dubbed (I can't tell)

The countdown on the nuclear bomb just happens to be interrupted at 007. However, this was a relatively late idea and this is reflected in the fact that a line of Bond's dialogue refers to "three more ticks" before the bomb went off.
