Live and Let Die, although better than the Bond films it was sandwiched between, is another low point in the series. Roger Moore's debut left a lot to be considered, story wise. In fact, there isn't much of a story, just a thread linking the different stunts.

The pre credits sequence did not feature 007 and contained no action whatsoever. The two high points for me that immediately come to mind are:

  • The spectacular boat chase

  • Jane Seymour (not that she did a great acting job... this was her first)

Trivia

The theme was nominated for best song in 1973 but lost to "The Way We Were" from the film of the same name.

The tarot cards used by Solitaire feature a 007 design on their reverse.

This was the first Roger Moore Bond film

The alligator farm that was used in the film was owned by a man named Kananga (same name as the villain)
