Licence to Kill, Timothy Dalton's second and final Bond film is
somewhat of a mixed bag. The story starts out gritty enough, but deteriorates into a
formula Bond film towards the end. Part of the problem may be that Sanchez is a second
rate crook who thinks he's bigger than he is. 007 wouldn't even bother with him, save for
the fact that Sanchez nearly killed Felix Leiter, Bond's best friend and did indeed murder
Della, Felix's wife, on their wedding night.
Bond, perhaps flashing back to his own wedding day, seeks vengence
and quits the Secret Service. He catches up with Sanchez and kills him. In between LTK is
a very drawn out film.
