Mission Statement

It is the mission of this church to glorify God by providing the resources, services, and activities which support and promote Biblical teaching. A Christian lifestyle shall be taught to strengthen the faith of the Believers of this church and to influence the unsaved to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.

Objectives of the First Baptist Church of Washington


1. To disseminate the Word of God; to strengthen the faith of Believer; to influence the unsaved to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior via:

-Conducting worship services every Sunday and also weekly Bible studies.
-Performing church ordinances: Communion and Baptism
-Performing special services: baby dedications, weddings, funerals
-Developing and implementing a plan of action which will attract new worshippers.
-Evangelizing the unsaved outside of our congregation by way of missions, crusades, prison ministries, and fellowship groups which meet the needs of varied age, gender and social groups.

  1. To support and promote the Christian lifestyle through resources and
services via:

-Counseling, seminars, Bible studies
-Fellowship groups for varied age, gender and social groups
-Christian academic education
-Special events to attract and 'bond' people to the church
-Providing opportunities for members to serve the Lord
-Supporting other Christian ministries which impact our society for Christ.

3. To support and promote the Christian family through resources and
services via:

-Counseling and support groups
-Preschool youth care
-Fellowship groups for families, couples, youths, elderly, parents, etc.
-Christian academic education
-Emergency benevolence assistance
-Meeting the needs of the poor, the infirm, the handicapped, the elderly, the widows and the orphans.
-Supporting other Christian ministries which promote Christian family values and strengthen the Christian family in our society.


This Mission Statement of the First Baptist Church of Washington may be adjusted by membership vote to keep it true to her vision as it expands and evolves under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
