The Great Hunt


The Great Hunt started out as an experiment for me in the DikuMUD arena. I'd played a couple of DikuMUDs, but nothing ever compares to AberMUDs if that's where you got your start. I began reading Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series of novels, and became interested in basing a Multi User Dimension on his works. It has turned in quite an interesting result, in that people actually like the "world" I've built. We now have a builder port, where people can create things based on The Wheel of Time.


GREAT HUNT UPDATES
12/9/95
TGH is involved in a temporary site loss at the current time. The owner of our full time site, wheel.imaginary.com, was forced to shut his machine down and take it home for Christmas break (3 weeks) beginning December 9th, 1995. We will be down for the period, coding in some changes.

I have coded in an amazing new feature. It's not new to me, as I've done coding for this type of thing in AberMUDs, but it's new to TGH. The code I've included into the mud is that of InterMUD Communications. Right now, there is the ability to perform rchat, rwho, rtell and rreply between connected MUDs. The 'r' of course stands for remote. I am working with the development team of the IMC package written by James Seng. One of the things we're developing is a way to walk between muds using an ordinary exit. Stay tuned.
