Community Supported Farm

A Community Supported Farm (CSF) is a sibling of the CSA concept (Community Supported Agriculture). This a grass roots movement that brings together the consumers within a community and local farmers in a mutually beneficial partnership. The consumers are guaranteed fresh organically grown produce by purchasing shares in farmers' harvests at the beginning of the growing season. In so doing the farmers are ensured adequate funds to help in sustaining their farms.  The farmers deliver the produce to central locations for pick-up by the members. Membership prices and amount of produce delivered vary depending on the farm.

Members support the farm

  • They know where their food comes from
  • They have a say in how the farm is run

Farms in NJ are virtually GONE to housing and industrial development

Obtaining food should mean more that standing in line at the supermarket
