Heirloom Tomato Transplant Sale with a Taste of Spring Garlic:

Susan & Richard Sisti of Catalpa Ridge Farm are pleased to announce they will be holding their 3rd Annual Heirloom Tomato Transplant Sale Memorial Day Weekend at Olde Lafayette Village.  The sale will be held on Saturday & Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend (May 28th & 29th) from 10 am to 4 pm on both days. Over 40 varieties of heirloom tomatoes will be offered including some common varieties, such as Pink & Yellow Brandywine, Rutgers, Black Krim to some very unusual varieties such as Pineapple, Black, Red Peach, Schimigg's Striped Hollow, White Potato Leaf, Box Car Willie, Mortgage Lifter and many more. The transplants will be offered in 3" and 4 1/2" pots. In addition to the transplants, there will be a taste of “spring garlic” at the event, with bunches of spring garlic greens grown at Catalpa Ridge Farm also available for sale. You will be able to taste pestos & dips made from the early spring garlic and recipes will be available.

 

There will also be a selection of annual flower flats & baskets offered by Abe and Gail Fatum from Needmore Farm will have her goat cheese available for tasting & for sale on Saturday. We are pleased also to have Mary Jasch from Dig-it Magazine participate this year to answer your gardening questions. She also will be in attendance on Saturday. On Sunday, Rolling Hills Farm will be on site with their very popular garlic vinegar. They have been attending our Garlic Gathering over the past three years.
